![]() The Science Program across the GradesThe Science curriculum is guided by the vision that all students will have the opportunity to develop scientific literacy. The goal of scientific literacy is to develop the science-related knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students need to solve problems and make decisions, and at the same time help them become lifelong learners, maintaining their sense of wonder about the world around them. The three emphases are Nature of Science, Science and Technology, and Social and Environmental contexts. Each unit for grades 7 and 8 has one of these emphases. At St. Mark, students are expected to perform to the highest of standards. In addition to mastering the curriculum, students spend extra time developing skills that we at St. Mark feel deserve extra emphasis. Students will focus on specific developmental skills, such as solving and evaluating conditions. We hope that our program will allow students to develop their scientific potential to the fullest. Furthermore, we strive to give students the skills necessary to maximize their success in the future. [ top ] |
